More big budget wins for US light rail projects
The Obama administration's Fiscal Year 2011 budget for the Federal Transit Administration includes new Full Funding Grant recommendations for several US light rail schemes.
Continuing the bold commitment towards LRT as reported in previous issues of TAUT, the following schemes have received a massive vote of confidence worth nearly USD700m: San Francisco Central Subway (USD20m); St. Paul - Minneapolis Central Corridor (USD45m); Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Project (USD55m); Houston North and Southeast Corridors (USD75m each).
For more details on these schemes, read the full report in the April 2010 issue of TAUT.
