Casablanca's tramway promoter Casa Transports has announced that further tenders for sections of the 30km USD850m Line 1 tram will be released by April.

The tramway will connect the city's eastern and south-western suburbs with the downtown area and is expected to carry 250 000 passengers per day when it opens in 2012.
